Kay is Managing Directo of Tūmanako Productions Ltd where she is currently in production for Māori Television with:
"Kia Mau!" - new childrens series, "Marae Kai Masters" series 2, and "Whānau 2014".
In 2013 she produced "Mīharo" Series 8 and "Marae Kai Masters" series 1 for Māori Television.
Her critically acclaimed documentary "He Toki Huna: NZ in Afghanistan" delivered to Māori Television - also ran as a feature length version at last year's NZ Film Festival. It was the winner of the Moa award for Best Editing (documentary) at 2013 Film Awards
She has produced everything from talk shows to educational videos across her career which started with a post-graduated diploma in Broadcast Communications from Auckland University in 1991.
In 2004 as Joint Managing Director: AKA Productions Ltd she produced "HIKOI:Inside Out" a DNZ 1 hour documentary for TVNZ which won a Qantas Media award in 2005. She has also strayed into sport, winning another award for "The Brown Factor".
As a freelance director she has produced numerous shows, documentaries and educational programmes.
In 2014 she was the recipient of the WIFT NZ Mana Wahine Award.
