The Show Me Shorts Film Festival programme for 2010 has just been announced, and is one of the strongest yet. The six themed sessions for this year are: Imagination, Kissing Games, Noir Motive, Child's Play, Redemption and High Stakes. Each session has about seven short films, and a total running time of around 80 minutes.

The 2010 line-up has some of the most controversial subject matter to date and Festival Director Gina Dellabarca says, "Selecting this year's films has been the most challenging to date, but also one of the most rewarding. We received more entries than the previous few years, and the bar keeps rising all the time."

Over half of the films will be making their world or New Zealand premiere when they screen at Show Me Shorts. The festival has a preference for new shorts with high production values, since they are played on large cinema screens.

The full list of films in this year's Show Me Shorts line-up will be available in brochures from cinemas, cafes, libraries and downloadable from www.showmeshorts.co.nz
