At a ceremony in
Sydney this month, Cate Shortland won the best direction in a
feature film prize for her period drama Lore, and Rachel Perkins
won for direction of a TV drama series for Redfern Now.
Jessica Hobbs' won for direction in a TV mini series for ABC1's
Devils' Dust. Despite being a multiple AFI/AACTA Award winner, it
was Hobbs' first ADG win. She won over Daina Reid (Howzat! Kerry
Packer's War) and Ian Watson (Underbelly Badness Ep 5) in the
category.
Shortland, who acknowledged the plethora of female directors, won
in a strong feature film category featuring her husband Tony
Krawitz (Dead Europe), Kieran Darcy-Smith (Wish You Were Here) and
