Benjamin Law


Meet Benjamin Law, an Australian journalist, columnist, screenwriter and quick-witted cultural commentator. He's an outspoken advocate for both the LGBTIQA and Australian-Chinese communities and regularly tweets to his almost 100,000 followers about issues in these areas. He adapted his book, The Family Law into a critically-acclaimed and award-winning comedy series, which was produced by Matchbox Pictures. The pilot's Facebook premiere gained 1.1 million views, and the first season was the most-watched comedy on SBS On Demand. The Family Law returned for two further seasons, winning two Equity Ensemble Awards (Best Ensemble in a Comedy Series), two Casting Guild Awards (Best Casting in a Comedy) a SPAA Award (Best Comedy Series). Benjamin also wrote for Netflix/Network Ten's Sisters. He recently developed and hosted documentary series Waltzing the Dragon with Benjamin Law, which sought to retrace his heritage, and has received rave reviews.
