Imagine a second wave of coronavirus has forced New Zealand back into lockdown…

That's what producers Liz DiFiore and Peter Salmon did when they came up with the idea for INSiDE, an offbeat eight-part thriller TV series. Filmed over two weeks during lockdown level 2 (and on a microbudget!) the series follows reclusive tech expert Rose McWhitney who hacks into strangers' video calls to get a hit of human interaction. When she unexpectedly reconnects with an old school bully, Rose suddenly finds herself sharing a bubble with a haunting vision from her past. Now she's got to work out what is real and what is just pandemic-induced paranoia.

WIFT members Shoshana McCallum and Thomas Sainsbury were on the writing team, while Sarah Voon oversaw costume. INSiDE was funded through NZonAir's Rapid Response Funding as a result of COVID 19 restrictions on the film industry.

INSiDE is available on Prime Catch Up on SkyGO and on NEON at the end of October.
