It's fair to say most of us would prefer to
forget last year, but believe it or not, there were some positives!
2020 proved to be a milestone year for female filmmakers. The
Centre for the Study of Women in Television and Film at San Diego
State University revealed that 16% of directors who worked on the
100 highest-grossing films of last year were women. That's up from
12% in 2019 and 4% in 2018.
The National News lists 10 female
creatives and their films to look out for this year, Kiwi director
Jane Campion and her project The Power Of The Dog is among
them.
