RNZ / PASC / PISA Development Funding

Posted Tuesday 01 Apr 2025

RNZ have partnered with the Pan-Asian Screen Collective (PASC) and Pacific Islands Screen Artists (PISA) on a development fund to support this work, and you are invited to submit a pitch.

RNZ is committed to reflecting the diverse communities of Aotearoa as it strives to create outstanding public media that matters. It is part of RNZ’s content strategy to grow representation of Pan-Asian and Pasifika people and stories, and work with producers and creatives from these communities to develop projects to be published on rnz.co.nz and rangatahi platform TAHI, and associated social media channels.

PASC and PISA are facilitating development pathways for RNZ/TAHI screen projects targeted towards Pan-Asian and Pasifika New Zealanders with development funding to be allocated for 3 to 4 projects per organisation (where development is capped at $20,000 for each project).  Once developed, RNZ intends to provide commissioning support and help find production funding pathways for the projects.

TAHI-specific: Looking for a social media video series for 18 to 35 year olds. They’d love to see more short-form scripted video series made by the audience they’re intended to serve (or mentored in a Tuakana-Teina relationship). Programmes, if suitable, would also be hosted on RNZ platforms.

RNZ-specific: This is an RFP for video content outside the news and current affairs space, and for rangatahi and general audiences. Proposals can only be accepted for this development funding if it fits the brief. RNZ is looking for unique content, outside of what is already being made.
