Women Working in Television Debate

Posted Tuesday 06 Apr 2010

At BAFTA last month, a panel of TV industry experts debated on the topic of Women Working in TV: Is It A Young Girl's Game? The debate opened with some striking statistics from the UK media industry: the proportion of female employees in television has dropped from 38% to just 27% in the last three years, with nearly 5,000 women leaving the sector - a drop out rate six times higher than for men.  A video of the debate has been posted on BAFTA's website, along with an event report, and a video featuring interviews with women working in the television sector who offer their opinions and give insight into their experiences working as women in the TV world. The debate continues on Twitter #womenintv .
