Five NZ Filmmakers have had their short films selected to screen at the 59th Melbourne International Film Festival which will run from July 22nd until August 8th this year. The films are as follows: Amadi the third film by writer/director Zia Mandviwalla and produced by Owen Hughes; Choice Night the second short film from the filmmaking team consisting of writer Paul Stanley Ward, director Chris Dudman and producer Vicky Pope; Manurewa the short film debut by local music video director Sam Peacocke; the animated film Poppy by James Cunningham and the third instalment in Jason Stutter's 'Careful' series Careful With That Crossbow. In addition, Sam Peacocke, Chris Dudman and James Cunningham will attend the festival's Accelerator Programme with assistance from the NZ Film Commission.
