In response to the review conducted by Sir Peter Jackson and David Court, Arts Culture and Heritage Minister Christopher Finlayson released a media statement outlining key points in the review which he would take into consideration. In the release he states that "the reviewers have made certain findings across a wide-range of areas, which I will be looking at more closely." Whilst he recognises and acknowledges that the reviewers unreservedly do believe that we need the NZ Film Commission he will "will be looking very closely with the officials and the Film Commission at the review's findings and recommendations, on how to further improve the Film Commission's performance in the next thirty years of the New Zealand Film Industry."
