Pixar has named Brenda Chapman as the writer and director of the animated film Brave that is due out in June 2012. The film is about Merida, a tomboyish royal with a love of archery, who makes a decision with some major repercussions for her father's kingdom after a fight with her mother. Currently Reese Witherspoon, Billy Connolly, Emma Thompson and Julie Walters are expected to provide voices for the film.
