Sydney Levine over at Sydney's Buzz put together a list of all the foreign films submitted for Oscar consideration. 63 countries submitted films (last year 65 did), and only 8 are directed by women - a teeny 12.7%. Compare that to the fact that 55% of tickets in the US are bought by women.
