Rialto Cinemas New Market has been awarded "Best New Cinema" at the Australian International Movie Convention, which was decided by members of the Australian Independent Distributors Association (AIDA) through voting. According to AIDA president Robert Slaviero,
"It's an award to recognize excellence in support of independent distributors and their product. We look for a cinema that knows how to truly support the independent distributors. It's about how our films are presented, supported, and also how the cinema is maintained and run."
