Meisner Acting Classes: Now Starting 5 May

Posted Tuesday 19 Apr 2011

Due to unforeseen circumstances the last Meisner Acting Class run by member Barbara Woods at the Wellington Actors Studio was postponed - it will now start on Thursday 5 May. The upcoming Meisner Acting Class focuses on the improvisational and instinctive exercises from the Meisner Technique in the search for emotional truth and realistic behaviour in scenes. It is not only popular with those wanting to pursue acting but also among people interested in exploring personal and professional development in an unpretentious and pragmatic environment.
Observers are welcome to visit the current Monday night class. All potential students must arrange a meeting to talk about their goals and what you hope to get out of the course.
Also, each class has a couple of directors join, as one of the best things you can do to develop your skills as a director is to take an acting course. Nearly every book on directing advises this to develop your instincts and ability to communicate effectively with actors. Plus joining a class is great for networking with actors and writers.

Dates: 5th May- 13th October, 2011
Time: 6pm-9pm, Thursdays
Cost: 3 payments of $280.
Discount: 10% discount for total course payment of $756.
