The latest Shooting People update we received notes that MOFILM is back; now they just need you to make a stupendous short film for Shanghai or an amazing ad for Cannes. There's a whopping prize pot of 182,500USD, as well as once-in-a-lifetime expenses-paid trips and exclusive screenings and parties up for grabs. MOFILM is ever-evolving, so if you haven't clocked them for a while, now's a good time to check in and find out what you're missing.
Lots of the competitions this time around involve making creative short films, unrestricted by briefs; in the Chevy Route 66 competition, you're asked to make a short about your favourite road trip - a good way to spend a bank holiday weekend perhaps? Pepsi Films want shorts on a theme, like 'Small Desires' or 'We Are Different', and their ultimate prize is a commission from Pepsi China worth 20,000USD.
There are also 'make an ad for a brand' opportunities from Coca-Cola, Vitamin Water and the intriguing Secret Brand. They give you the tools and the direction, you provide the flair and inspiration.
You don't even need to choose between Cannes and Shanghai (which would be tricky); you can enter as many films into as many competitions as you like.
