This month marks one of the greatest anniversaries in the history of movies and female acting accomplishments: the two-decade mark since the screen debut of Thelma & Louise, a film starring Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon, both of which earned Best Actress Academy Award nominations. The film was one of the first to have two female leading roles and as Davis recalls no one was quite sure of how audiences would respond.
Several news sources have reported on a recent anniversary screening, but sadly many of them seemed to be more interested in Sarandon and Davis' youthful appearances, than in the film's groundbreaking content. Here's what the Daily Mail had to say.
Women and Hollywood's Melissa Silverstein also did an interview about the anniversary, which you can access through this link.
