Congruence Films: Various Roles on Short Film

The Lake is a self funded independent short film looking for the following positions:

Cast

  • Peter (main, $200/day)
  • Carlie (main, $200/day)
  • Jane (supporting, $150/day)
  • Motorist
  • Radio Announcer

Production regrets unspoken roles are unpaid.

Production Crew

  • First Assistant Director: Looking for a film education or industry experience in the same role.
  • Continuity
  • Unit

Camera Crew

  • Director of Photography: This project is very interested in exploring the use of lighting to help develop the behaviour of one of the central characters, Carlie. Experience and knowledge of working in this way would be helpful. An interest in art history/renaissance/gothic/expressionist painting would be helpful. Please provide a list of your last experience outside of miniDV or HDV, we are looking for someone with experience shooting on p2, as this is a card based shoot.

Please provide a copy of your last two film based projects.

Art Department

  • Art Director: An interest in architecture or art history/renaissance/gothic/expressionist painting would be helpful. Please provide showreel or portfolio of previous work.
  • Graphic Artist: looking for a painter or artist to draw 9x A5 landscape tableaux representing the 9 scenes and to design the DVD cover.  Open to acrylic or another method. Canvas will be supplied, please provide portfolio of your work.
  • Art Department Assistant: To assist the art director with the props and logistics of the locations
  • Hair and Makeup: Someone interested in creating a haunting realistic look into Carlie's Character and secondary characters
  • Wardrobe: Able to create clothes that speak of both the once mutual attraction and fierce independence of three characters

All applicants will ideally have a film education or 2+ year's industry experience.

The shoot will take place over 3 days in April. All travel costs will be compensated and food will be provided throughout the shoot otherwise (unless stated) these positions are unfortunately unpaid.

Currently a weekly production meeting is held on Wednesday at 6-7pm. Heads of Departments will need to be able to attend these meetings when necessary.
