Here in the WIFT Auckland office, we're all long-term supporters of Trade Aid goods, so when we learned this week that Trade Aid Importers in NZ are actually a Canterbury organization we sat up and took notice.
Luckily all Trade Aid Importers and Trade Aid shop staff were safe and unharmed after the quake that struck Christchurch on February 22, 2011, and their warehouse appears to have sustained less damage than many other local buildings. Yet there's still been lots of work to do to get their distribution warehouse back up and running.
So we'd like to give them a brief plug, and encourage you to continue to support their products. Especially given the knowledge that any impact on their business also impacts their supplying communities overseas, many of whom struggle on a daily basis to acquire what we term basic necessities - food, clean water and education.
