Learn Final Cut Pro in Italy

Posted Tuesday 17 May 2011

Ooh, sounds exotic, doesn't it?! Sadly, this opportunity won't be accessible to most of us, but who knows, you may have gotten a little lucky in Lotto, or have had a small financial windfall. New York WIFTI Chapter member and TV/film/internet editor, photographer and instructor Stefanie Dworkin has advised us that she's running a digital filmmaking workshop in Assisi, Italy from 20 July 20 through to 2 August 2011. Called "Portrait of Assisi: A Digital Filmmaking Workshop," it's offered through Art Workshop International. This production course allows students the freedom to explore Assisi through their various lenses and recording devices the first week and then focuses on learning Final Cut Pro the second week. Beginner to advanced filmmakers are welcome. A screening of student projects caps off the workshop.

The Digital Filmmaking Workshop is one of many creative residencies being offered including, painting, writing, photography, writing, Italian language, and so on. It's a wonderful gathering of friendly creative people of all ages from around the world, pursuing their art while making new friends, exploring beautiful Assisi and, of course, enjoying Italian food and wine.
The course costs US$4500 (and, of course, you'll need to book your own flights on top of that), however, a 10% discount is available for WIFTI members worldwide. (Mention 10% WIFTI Discount when booking.)
Please note that students are required to supply their own digital recording device(s) (dslr cameras, video cameras, cell phones, audio recorders, etc) and Apple laptop computer with Final Cut Pro. If necessary, a temporary version of Final Cut Pro is available to be installed on personal systems during the course of the workshop only.
