Posted Tuesday 18 Oct 2011

From Saturday 22 October, Te Papa Museum of New Zealand in Wellington will be showing a Gaylene Preston retrospective.

Included in the retrospective is a fundraising screening of Bread and Roses at 2pm on Monday 24 October - Labour Day. Originally released to mark the 100 years of women's suffrage in New Zealand, Bread and Roses is based on the autobiography of Sonja Davies. This moving epic story of one woman's experience spans 20 years from 1940 and captures the hopes and aspirations of a young nation. Koha (donation) - proceeds to go to Sonja Davies Peace Prize.
