Great news for several women we love. WIFT's own board member Janine Morrell-Gunn (Community category), Ainsley Gardner and Eileen Moran (Arts and Culture category) have been recognised with nominations in Next Magazine's Woman of the Year Awards.

Janine and her production company Whitebait Productions have worked tirelessly to help those affected by the Christchurch earthquakes.

Gardiner is best-known as Taika Waititi`s producer, having seen him through shorts Tama Tu and the Oscar-nominated Two Cars, One Night; and on to features Eagle vs Shark and Boy.
As a director, she made short Mokopuna, which had a good run on the international festival circuit, winning the best short film award at Dreamspeakers in Canada.
Eileen Moran is a VFX producer and EP for Weta Digital, and a four time Visual Effects Society (VES) Award-winner for her work on features, winning twice for Avatar, once for King Kong and once for a commercial.
The winners will be announced at a bash in Auckland on 6 October, a date shared with another film-related event - the opening of Tusi Tamisese`s The Orator.
