Web series have been around since 1995, so the idea is not new. But is now the time for this short form episodic storytelling to flourish?
For their August Writer's Room Script to Screen invite you to meet the makers of two locally developed and produced web series, Flat 3 and The Factory, to explore the viability of the web TV format, avenues for funding, the pros of writing for a shorter format and building an audience.
Join others to hear writer/director Roseanne Liang (Flat 3), actor/instigator JJ Fong (Flat 3), writer/director Michael Bennett (The Factory) and director Joe Lonie (The Factory) as they discuss the benefits and downsides of the web series format - is this the sustainable future?
