Meg Torwl Retrospective

Re-Tern: Hokinga Mahara - March 5 -10 2013

Curated by Elizabeth Kerekere and Treason Seditio in association with the Fringe Festival 2013, a retrospective exhibition that spans Meg's career, from photos taken in support of Maori Sovereignty in 1990, to documentaries made with refugee and first nations women in Canada, to RNZ programmes exploring disability and sexuality, to performance art which draws all these issues together, and her meditative Pacific Island coastal and color based installations which by contrast seek to empty the mind.

Meg Torwl's work has often been with communities pushed to the fringes by mainstream society - First Nations, refugees, women, lesbian and gay, people with disability, elders and marine environments.

When: March 5 - 10, 2013

Where: Thistle Hall Gallery

cnr Cuba & Arthur Streets, Wellington
