For the second straight year, the Tribeca Film Festival is host to the Imagination Series film competition, which asks entrants to interpret a script penned by an Oscar winning screenwriter. This unique talent quest perfectly suited for a festival renowned for its support of up and coming directors. The competition was launched recently by Oscar-winning actor Adrien Brody (The Pianist) at Tribeca.
The fascinating competition is open to all, requiring entrants to read a minimalist script from screenwriter Geoffrey Fletcher (an Oscar winner in his own right, care of Precious) and interpret it in any way they wish, as long as it all fits inside five minutes. A global judging panel, that includes Brody and Fletcher, will decide a winner based on imagination and creativity, with the winner receiving the opportunity to work with world-class talent to produce their very own short.
