BEYOND THE EDGE has achieved the highest grossing opening weekend of all time in New Zealand for a Documentary film, taking $320,170 at the New Zealand box office in its opening weekend.
BEYOND THE EDGE opened in cinemas across the country on Thursday October 24.
Directed by New Zealand's most internationally accomplished and award winning documentary film-maker and WIFT member Leanne Pooley, BEYOND THE EDGE sees one of our greatest adventures comes to life in a 3D feature film that dramatically recreates the epic true story of Sir Edmund Hillary and his journey to the summit of Mt Everest.
This result sees BEYOND THE EDGE take the number one spot, surpassing The Topp Twins: Untouchable Girls, also directed by Pooley.
