New CEO at Greenstone

Greenstone TV and owners CJZ  announced the appointment of Richard Driver to the position of Managing Director of New Zealand's Greenstone TV. Richard replaces founder and MD John Harris.

Richard has over twenty-five years experience across a diverse range of roles in the industry. Starting on-air at TVNZ as the host of its flagship music show 'Radio With Pictures'.  He quickly became an adept producer and director which led to the beginning of a successful career as both Managing Director and Executive Producer for New Zealand production companies Maxwell (1995-1997), Screentime NZ (1997-2001) & Visionary (2001-2006) - a company he co-founded in 2001. Richard was responsible for launching the Documentary Channel on New Zealand's Sky digital platform, which he later sold (2010) to the BBC.  As a non-fiction content producer he has delivered programmes for New Zealand's TVNZ, TV3, Prime, Maori and C4 channels, Australia's Seven and Ten networks, BBC Worldwide & Ireland's RTE broadcaster. His music, youth and documentary programmes have featured at film & TV festivals in Europe, USA, Australia and New Zealand and have received numerous awards and nominations locally and internationally.

Acclaimed Australian actor and stage and screen writer Tony Briggs joins Sheri Candler on the line-up of industry experts heading to Auckland for Tropfest NZ's Roughcut on 4 September 2014. More presenters to be announced soon.  More about Tony Briggs.

An intimate evening of presentations with industry experts, featuring Sheri Candler (US director of Digital Marketing Strategy - The Film Collaborative) is promised.  The MC for the night will be the self-confessed cinema addict and TV3's 3News Entertainment Editor andFilm3 reviewer, Kate Rodger. ??This event will be a forum of stimulating insights, by key industry experts, aimed to educate, inspire and challenge filmmakers at all stages of their careers.??TASTE OF TROPFEST SCREENING??The presenter line-up will be followed by a Taste of Tropfest short film screening which will feature finalist Tropfest films from NZ and around the world. Drinks and canap�s to celebrate the official launch of the 2015 competition and festival will conclude the evening.
