SPADA is thrilled to have secured Angus Finney for this three-day masterclass (draft programme below).  Angus will be taking a project and business approach to the masterclass; will provide a lot of key examples, and embrace not just a US/UK indie approach, but explore the culturally specific value of NZ local content having an international market - and how to engineer that through a range of options, markets, exposure, etc.

SPADA did initially aim to programme this Masterclass before the Summit (as we did with the Masterclass in 2012), but unfortunately, due to Angus having to juggle dates having been called as an expert  witness in the Ingenious v HRMC trial (a 1bn level court case on film tax evasion); we've had to programme this Masterclass as a stand-alone event. Nonetheless, we wanted to make it happen and to work as Angus will not only have a lot of invaluable information and knowledge to pass on, but he will also be a good contact for people to have in the UK.

As previously mentioned, Angus has recently spent three years working as a risk manager and media advisor for Octopus Media, part of Octopus Investments - a 1.5bn City of London fund manager.  He's a leading international film and creative industry specialist, whose work includes MBA-level teaching at The Judge Business School, Cambridge University and Cass Business School, City University, London.  He is the manager of Europe's only Production Finance Market, hosted by Film London annually; and advises film funds and executive produces films, staying close to the film market and new trends and digital developments.
