Stop Press:

Posted Tuesday 16 Dec 2014

Huge apologies from Josie - your E News compiler. In my haste to get E News out today before you all dashed off to the Guilds' party in Auckland and other fabulous Xmas get togethers around the country, I forgot to include a big WELL DONE to all the finalists and winners at last week's Film Awards.

The final line up represented a fabulous body of work from the industry, and we know there were lots of women behind the scenes - and not everyone gets to hop up to the podium. So congratulations to everyone involved....

And on reflection it deserves its own special E News stop press - doesn't it?

So a special bouquet to our members who were involved in two high successful projects that ticked the boxes both artistically and commercially:

Paula Jones for Hip Hop-eration, winner of Best Documentary

Chelsea Winstanley for What We Do In The Shadows, winner of Park Road Post Best Self-Funded Film

Jackie van Beek, Best Supporting Actress for her work in What We Do In The Shadows

And to Kate Prior and Abigail Greenwood for making a point of employing a majority of women on their film Eleven, winner of the Canon Best Short Film award.
