The Aesthetica Short Film Festival 2014 - call for entries

The Aesthetica Short Film Festival 2014, is one of the largest short film festivals in the UK. Call for Entries is now open, presenting a fantastic opportunity for WIFTNZ members to engage with a wider, international audience and interact with some of the biggest personalities in the film industry today.

Last year's festival included films from over 30 different countries across the world and they are really keen to engage even further with filmmakers in New Zealand in 2014.

In addition to screenings throughout the ASFF weekend, prizes include 500 Euros for the Festival Winner, 250 Euros for the People's Choice Winner, screenings at a number of other UK festivals and editorial on the Aesthetica and ASFF blogs. The time limit is 30 minutes and categories for entry are: Drama, Comedy, Thriller, Animation, Documentary, Artists' Film, Music Video and Experimental.

ASFF have also announced two exciting new strands for 2014 - Advertising and Fashion. It is the only UK film festival to represent these genres, presenting a rare opportunity to showcase films that drive aesthetic innovation to those that debate contemporary issues.

ASFF 2014 will take place in 15 unique and iconic locations across the historic city of York, including medieval halls and boutique cinemas, during the weekend of 6 - 9 November 2014. In addition to four days of screenings, there will also be a variety of opportunities to engage with leading industry figures and fellow filmmakers throughout an exciting series of masterclasses, workshops and networking sessions; last year's attendees included representatives from BAFTA, Channel 4, Film4, Warp Film, Raindance and Sheffield Doc/Fest.
