New Appointment at GSTV

Great Southern Television (a long-time WIFT sponsor) has announced the appointment of WIFT member Carmen Leonard as their new Head of Production.

Carmen has a 28 year track record in NZ Broadcasting, working on a number of hugely successful productions in the drama, factual and documentary genres.

She recently completed a shoot on the tele-feature, The Kick, for Great Southern Television, serving as producer.

Carmen rounds off GSTV's new team, following the departure of Rachel Gardner to Sydney to undertake an exciting new role.

Carmen will work alongside CEO Philip Smith as Executive Producer on a number of NZ series with a team of producers working with GSTV.

The GSTV structure is now:

Jane Campion Near Deal to Direct Adaptation of 'The Flamethrowers'

Our own Jane Campion (currently leading the judges at Cannes)  is nearing a deal to direct an adaptation of Rachel Kushner's New York Times bestseller "The Flamethrowers," according to The GuardianThe legendary filmmaker told the newspaper that Scott Rudin is on board to produce the film about the underground art scene.  Check out the full story below...
