The latest innovative project funded by Te Mangai Paho, 'Hahana' is a fast paced & fresh show that brings a more localised focus, creating interesting and teen appealing content from within our rohe of the Manawatu, Horowhenua and Wanganui area.
Hosted by rangatahi, (see pic above) Manu Korero Champ and Hato Paora head boy Sonny Ngatai who is fluent in te reo Maori, and Ashley Dykstra from Taitoko who is a language learner and has taken on the role of Roving Reporter.
The webisodes incorporate a low Te reo M?ori component but is 100% of Maori kaupapa and will be reaching more young Maori by launching online where we know they watch video.
Each webisode will have a celebrity element, a funny element and an educational but entertaining element.
Hahana aims to affirm who these young people are, what they believe are important, so that they can see their reflection in a nationwide media, as a foundation step to achieving their dreams and aspiration.
The first episode is tonight at 7pm.
The 'learning how to pronounce Maori' type promo with Deadlands star Lawrence Makoare and Ashley currently has over 9000 views with a reach of 22, 800. Please use this link to see the clip.
