Enquiries Manager with Film New Zealand/ New Zealand Film Commission

Film New Zealand is a subsidiary company within the New Zealand Film Commission and works in the global screen industry. It facilitates and promotes New Zealand as one of the world's best screen production destinations and has many success stories to tell.

The Enquiries Manager is a key role with its focus on managing enquiries from offshore clients and attraction activity that promotes New Zealand as a destination for international screen projects. You will use your production experience and knowledge of New Zealand to assess and propose solutions to client requirements including responding to enquiries, preparing image galleries, meeting client needs and identifying opportunities. You'll need experience and networks in the screen production industry, commercial acumen, excellent influencing and negotiating skills, and the gravitas to effectively represent the New Zealand screen industry.

You will be known for your ability to manage and prioritise an often demanding work load and for your energetic style. Your strong writing, visual and database/CRM skills will also be put to good use in this position.

Transcription Assistant Wanted

Screen 2 Script Ltd is a post production script service based in Auckland. We write export scripts, transcripts, and ADR scripts for film and television.


We are looking for a transcription assistant who can hit the ground running. The work itself is not difficult. It demands that you are:

  • Trustworthy

  • Hard worker
  • Willingness to learn

Trust is important as clients send us their hard earned content prior to broadcast. We are in a privileged position to handle it with due care.


You must be proficient in word and excel. If you have experience working with final draft that would be an advantage, otherwise you will learn it on the job. Another advantage is if you can write fluent Maori.


This role starts at $750 per week for 40 hours a week while you learn the ropes. Upon becoming a proficient transcriber, you can expect to earn $1000 per week (maybe more depending on how well and timely the work is completed). There will be a 1 week probationary period to see if this role works for you and us.


Hours are from 8am - 5pm, Monday - Friday for one month. It may go part time after this period depending on the company's workload.

Stephen Follows has put up this post on the back of the doco 'Amy' - which sold out at

NZIFF and is now doing well on commercial release in NZ. It's doing good numbers

in the UK too.

So how do documentaries normally fare in UK cinemas?  In summary�

  • Amy has already grossed more than 166% of all the documentaries released during 2010 combined
  • Documentaries account for over 20% of feature films made in the UK
  • But only 1.9% of the total spend went towards their budgets
  • 95% of UK documentary features are made without support from a US studio
  • During 2001, there were only 4 documentary feature films released in UK cinemas.
  • By 2013, that figure had grown over twentyfold to 89
  • In 2010, documentaries accounted for just 0.2% of the UK box office
  • The average documentary release is in UK cinemas for 7 weeks
  • Amy has been released in more UK cinemas that the average action movie
