Banana in a Nutshell is the original documentary which would inspire the romantic comedy My Wedding And Other Secrets six years later.
Growing up in New Zealand, director Roseanne Liang was your average overachieving daughter-of-immigrants. She excelled in piano, ballet and drama, as well as becoming valedictorian of her school. She did everything her parents expected of her, until:
1) she fell in love with a white boy called stephen, and
2) turned the camera on what happened next.
Part of the Love Stories season, Banana in a Nutshell will be playing continuously in the TV Lounge during open hours - just ask our friendly cafe staff to start the film from the beginning for you. |
