YouTube: The Insider's Guide to Success

Posted Tuesday 20 Jan 2015

We're very excited to begin the year by bringing you YouTube: The Insider's Guide to Success.  For the first time in New Zealand you have the opportunity to hear from the specialists and some fabulous guest speakers! Apart from Robbie Spargo and Steve Crombie (Google them to find out how wonderful they are!), we'll also have a Surprise Guest in each centre for a Fireside Chat.

YouTube has become a forum to connect, inform and inspire billions of people from all over the world. It is also the world's largest distribution platform. The YouTube team, in person!, will share best practices on how to grow your global fanbase, demystify revenue and copyright, and provide an opportunity to network and collaborate with other Kiwi creators.

Presenting the event are:

Kristen Bowen, Manager, YouTube Content Partnerships
Kristen manages the development of content strategy and partnerships for YouTube in Australia and New Zealand. She has been with YouTube since 2007 and was one of the early employees in the San Bruno, California headquarters office. Before relocating to Sydney Kristen was managing partnerships with the UK television broadcasters at Google UK.
Kristen is a California native and holds a Bachelor of Arts honors degree in Communication Studies from the University of California - Los Angeles (UCLA)

Guillaume Deront, Online Partnerships Manager

Guillaume is originally from Paris, France and holds a Master's degree in Marketing & Innovation from Skema Business School.

Special guests include Robbie Spargo, who managed Fremantle's global YouTube operations, and Steve Crombie, YouTube consultant and founder of multi-channel network TOTEM.

About the film: Mrs. Gallienne, a rather temperamental upper middle-class lady, has three children, two of whom she considers as her sons and another she calls Guillaume. Logically indeed, the latter teenage creature does not picture himself as a boy, rather as a girl or at best as a homosexual. But how can a mother act in such an objectionable way? And why? Through a series of painful chain of experiences, Guillaume will discover little by little who he actually is and will manage to break free from her pernicious influence.
