Leo's short film THE RANGIMOEKAUS made with WIFT member Helena Bethune screened at Wairoa last year. From there it was selected for Australia and Tahiti.

Wairoa film festival is a special experience held at Nuhaka Marae in which people from all cultures gather and enjoy manaakitanga (hospitality), on the Marae and can cosy up marae style on mattresses and watch movies on the big screen!

Some films are even from top film festivals such as Cannes that you can only see in NZ here at Wairoa.

Kiwi Maori film-makers at this festival also get a chance to network with overseas producers, directors and film industry people to promote and build on NZ films and opportunities. So it's a brilliant opportunity to get behind and support.

Wairoa film festival also partners with other countries to screen NZ films in France, Finland, Germany, the South Pacific, and Australia. So that's worth supporting 10 years of building a prominent indigenous Kiwi Maori film festival.

Help Leo and the team celebrate this beautiful film festival in Nuhaka NZ Queens Birthday weekend.
