Our own Patricia Watson reports on a Capital evening...
"Oh what a night - our not-to-be-missed film party of the year to launch The Dressmaker was a big hit in Wellington recently with lots of members and friends and supporters turning out and looking fabulous. for this very special preview Kelly Lucas of The Data Book http://www.databook.co.nz/ very graciously provided sponsorship which allowed us to bring writer/director Jocelyn Moorhouse and producer Sue Maslin over from Australia for the preview. Jocelyn, who also wrote and directed Proof, directed How to Make an American Quilt and produced Muriel's Wedding was interviewed by Kim Hill while she was here.
Make a cup of coffee (or pour yourself a gin) and listen to the interview http://www.radionz.co.nz/national/programmes/saturday/audio/201772235/jocelyn-moorhouse-women-in-film
After that watch The Dressmaker trailer
and make sure you see it on the big screen when it opens across NZ on 29 October. It is a wonderful film with outstanding characters drawn from an ensemble of the best Australian actors including Judy Davis (of course Kate Winslet and Liam Hemsworth don't hurt either!!) I am going to see it again!"
