Workshop for Emerging Filmmakers (R13)

The Miramar Events Trust is proud to present this workshop for emerging filmmakers, silver screen enthusiasts and anyone interested in learning about the creative filmmaking process.

Come and enjoy and afternoon with three of New Zealand's cinematic mavericks as they share, divulge tales from the deep, talk through their own creative inspirations and impart some of lessons they have learned along the way.

Director Christian Rivers in collaboration with producer Mhairead Connor will screen their short film Feeder followed by a Q&A.  They will talk through the creative process of putting Feeder together.

Liz Mullane will talk about 'understanding the vision of the Director' - how to best translate this into what characteristics you look for in an actor and what are the most challenging roles to fill.

Miranda Harcourt will bring her expert knowledge and experience of coaching and preparing actors for the film and stage.

This workshop is designed to provide an opportunity to share ideas and discuss challenges with some experienced members of the industry in a relaxed and social environment.

We would like as much audience participation with the panel as possible, so please come prepared with some questions to ask.

Moneypenny has announced a new initiative tailored to first-time and low budget filmmakers.

After fifteen years of a shared location, website and direction Moneypenny Production Accounting Services and its namesake, Moneypenny Business & Taxation Services, is formally separating. Business and Tax will now have a new brand focus and distinctive approach, headed by Jacqui Crouch and Ben Fletcher, known as Generate.

Moneypenny Production Accounting Services will continue to provide a full range of financial management services to the film, TV, theatre and event industries. Moneypenny and Generate will also continue to share Building 19 at Fox Studios and remain a one-stop-shop in providing both integrated and complimentary services to the mutual benefit of our clients."

Moneypenny is also launching a new Micro Accounting Package (MAP), a specific and affordable plan tailored to first-time and low budget filmmakers, MAP is a combination of software, accounting services and specialist advice that is designed to provide production support and experience.

The Digital Production Manager (DPM) is also new to Moneypenny's to software suite, which includes the Digital Purchase Order and Digital Start Form. Extras such as Digital Petty Cash and Digital Contract are currently in development. These solutions promise to help MAP user as well as deliver enhanced efficiencies to projects with high-end budgets.
