Film Festival For Children A First

Posted Wednesday 30 Sep 2015

Only 2 weeks to go!

Screenies is a new dedicated film festival for children (3 - 15 years) at The Auckland Performing Arts Centre (TAPAC) in Western Springs on the 22nd-25th of October (Labour Weekend). The Festival is being staged for the first time and is designed for children between the ages of 3 and 15 years.

Organisers want to encourage interest in films and storytelling among primary and intermediate school aged children. We have films from Little Big Shots in Australia and a small selection of feature films. Check out our programme on our website http://screenies.nz/ Thanks to the NZFC we have newly digitised Margaret Mahy animated films for a new generation to enjoy.

Calling for Film Reviews - any budding film critics?

Screenies is excited to announce a new film review compeititon for primary and intermediate school children.

Organisers would love to encourage children to become more engaged with film and media. To help achieve this, they have launched a film competition to coincide with Auckland's first ever Screenies Children's International Film Festival:
