The Big Screen Symposium 2016 takes place in Auckland on 24/25 September 2016. Tickets on sale now

Three women who champion provocative storytelling on the international stage join the line-up! Come and hear from Opeyemi Olukemi, senior director of Interactive from the Tribeca Institute and Australian marketing and distribution expert Courtney Botfield of The Goodship Agency. They will be joined by NZ documentary director Pietra Brettkelly, whose project shot in war-torn Afghanistan, A FLICKERING TRUTH is in NZ cinemas right now. See below for more information.

Loading Docs and Big Screen Symposium present a masterclass with director of The Goodship Agency, Courtney Botfield. Courtney draws on her 20 years of experience in independent film marketing and distribution to delve into innovate ways to get films made and seen, including securing brand partnerships and philanthropy, and new ways to reach an audience.  More info.

 

AWARD-WINNING DIR/PROD PIETRA BRETTKELLY TO DELIVER MASTERCLASS

Enigmatic filmmaker Pietra Brettkelly (M?ORI BOY GENIUS) shares the fascinating story of making her latest acclaimed documentary, A FLICKERING TRUTH. A creative process of necessarily high physical and financial risk, the film took Pietra into Afghanistan seven times over 2.5 years, during a war, intentionally without security, a flak jacket or a grasp of the local language.  More info.
