Congratulations to WIFT member Ronel Schodt whose crowdfunding campaign (with Bridget Ellis-Pegler) for Shotz Productions, has hit 100% of its target for their project:
http://www.boosted.org.nz/projects/lets-make-fantastic-games-for-girls
Ronel and Bridget are a Writer-Producer team developing a large project for 8-12 year old girls, called 'Sylvie & Arabella'. It includes a TV series, books, a film, and a large scale computer game. 'Sylvie & Arabella' is a story of friendship between two ten-year-old girls, one of whom comes from another planet, where flying and magic are commonplace
While this level of funding is an incredible position to be in, only halfway through the campaign, please don't think that reaching the target means they don't need your support - because they do.
They deliberately set the target at a realistic level, to give themselves the best possible chance of reaching it. From here on, every donation goes towards developing the project further: next steps, creating the all-important visual assets they need to illustrate the project to potential investors.
Ronel is also enjoying international exposure with two of her films with Deaf Director Brent Macpherson screening at the Seattle Deaf Film festival in April. http://www.deafspotlight.com/#!films/cros
Ronel produced both films.
