Script to Screen is seeking a new Programme Assistant for their

busy Auckland-based office. The role is a permanent part-time position

Tasks for the Programme Assistant include:

  • event coordination
  • publicity
  • social media
  • website upkeep
  • office administration(including filing and technical know-how)
  • assistance at events.

Office hours are flexible but take place within the working week,

and events are often after hours or in the weekends.

They are looking for someone to start ASAP.

strong interest in New Zealand film.

We are on the search for a person to take on board the day to day running of the Screen Composers Guild as permanent General Secretary.  This is a paid part-time casual contract position and is open to members and non members / composers and non-composers based in Auckland or Wellington.??What we really need is someone energetic, enthusiastic and passionate about the world of music.  Ideally with some events, marketing and administration experience - preferably who are a bit web savvy but not experts.??Job Description

  • Attending guild related industry meetings and liaising with other guilds.

Head of Development and Production

 

The New Zealand Film Commission (NZFC) invests in original and culturally significant films, encourages talented New Zealand filmmakers through developing career pathways and facilitating connections offshore, and works to increase the number of people seeing New Zealand films.

The day-to-day operations of the NZFC are carried out by a small staff under the leadership of the CEO and senior management team.  Currently we are investing in around twenty feature films per annum.

We are seeking a Head of Development and Production to lead a team of five in the creative development and production of feature films with NZFC investment and represent the NZFC to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.  Along with the CEO and members of the NZFC senior manager's team, this is a key role in setting the tone of the NZFC's working relationship with the industry.  Key responsibilities are set out below.

Development and Production

  • Provide robust advice to the CEO and Board on creative, strategic and organisational issues relating to film development, investment and production;
  • Use strategic oversight to develop strategy, policy and key projects that will improve the quality of our films;
  • Manage feature film script development and the team involved, including the supervision of financing applications;
  • At all levels of development funding, provide support and appropriate feedback and contribute, coordinate and review applications and scripts received and provide useful feedback to applicants as appropriate;
  • Exercise in collaboration with the development and production team the NZFC's key creative approvals on feature film projects approved for production (final script approval, cast, crew).
  • Monitor in consultation with the Head of Business Affairs and Head of Marketing the progress of NZFC funded films as appropriate including rough cut approvals and lock-off procedures.

Delegated Authorities

  • Responsibly manage the development and production budgets.

Strategic Advice and Strategy Input

  • Collaborate with senior managers to contribute to the development of NZFC policies and procedures;
  • Contribute to relevant working groups that progress solutions to complex issues.

?Communication and Media

  • Undertake public speaking nationally and internationally at industry and NZFC events;
  • Undertake media interviews domestically and internationally;

Suitable candidates will offer the following skills and experience

  • Experience working creatively in the development and production of film projects, with a variety of screen content creators both nationally and internationally;
  • Ideally an understanding of industry and central government's relationship in the rapidly changing environment of screen production and distribution;
  • Proven experience in the management of multi-faceted, complex and multi-stakeholder projects;
  • Senior leadership skills - has a credible and respected reputation as a leader and achiever;
  • Proven creative development skills - able to discuss specific projects and applications with sensitivity to the people involved and throughout deliver clear messaging on NZFC priorities and capacities;
  • Practical experience in the screen sector, especially production experience;
  • Experience contributing to the strategic direction of an organization and ability to provide a big picture overview to others.

This a contract role for a period of two or three years, based in Wellington, New Zealand.  Assistance with relocation is available.
