The Hynds Creative Entrepreneur 2016 Award is a $10,000 cash award, and has been awarded to creative entrepreneur and 'filmhead' Ant Timpson (2012), theatre 'impresario', producer and performing arts manager Charlie McDermott (2013) and choreographer, artistic director, and NZ Dance Company founder Shona McCullagh (2015).

The ART Emerging Creative Entrepreneur 2016 Award is a $5,000 cash award, and will be awarded for the first time in 2016.

Hynds Creative Entrepreneur 2016 Award criteria
The person ART and Hynds Group of Companies are looking to honour through the Award is a key mover and shaker in the arts and/or creative sector whose work has positively influenced and benefited the Auckland community. They will be a changemaker, whose contribution is held in high esteem by their communities of influence. They'll have earned the respect of their peers for their ability to innovate and for their leadership, as well as being entrepreneurial in their outlook and behaviour. They will have a track record, and evidence of quality and success, in their chosen creative sector field. The Hynds Creative Entrepreneur 2016 Award will not necessarily be selected on seniority, but rather the scale of what has been achieved. Accordingly, we are looking for a 'heavy-hitter'.

ART Emerging Creative Entrepreneur 2016 Award criteria
The ART Emerging Creative Entrepreneur of the Year will be someone who is creating innovative, well regarded work and already achieving great things, and is on a creative career or enterprise development trajectory. They will also have a strong connection to Auckland and be creating (social / cultural/economic) benefit for the wider Auckland community through what they do. They will be an emerging and respected leader, as well as being entrepreneurial in their outlook and behaviour and have earned the attention of peers and audiences /participants/communities. Their work will be innovative, perhaps even a little risky, and their work is having an impact, with evidence of positive change, influence and reach. Even though they may be an emerging creative entrepreneur, there will already be evidence of quality and success created through and by their work , and they will have a commitment to a creative career and to the further development of Auckland's creative sector and communities.

Who 'fits the bill' in your opinion? ART and Hynds are seeking names to take forward into a selection process, and we are asking for your thoughts. We'd like to know (briefly, bullet points are fine) who they are, why you've chosen them, and where we'll find evidence of their great work and impact. You are invited to nominate people for either or both Awards. Nominations close on Wednesday 15 June.
