HP48 Hours Best Female Director award

Posted Tuesday 22 Nov 2016

Just announced! There will be an award for Best Female Director.  It wasn't announced previously as a category, but the team felt that this is an industry wide issue that can be addressed at many levels - including with this competition.

This is a pleasing message from the HP48HOURS crew.  We are pleased to see this recognition for female directors back on the agenda!

Next year 48 hours will do even more to encourage female filmmakers to get behind the camera and tell their stories, in their voice - and in 48 hours!

Thanks to Women In Film & Television NZ's support - this year's HP48 Hours Best Female Director will receive a year long membership to WIFTNZ.

The nominees for HP48 Best Female Director 2016 are:

An Error of Era - Ice Cream Cake - Claire Foley

Best Laid Plans - Spitting Monkey Knife Fight - Estelle Clifford

Last Chance Charlie - Wiz Kids - Stephanie Cullen

Morning After - Cool Story Bro - Lauren Porteous

Ponsonby Punk Club - Orientale

The HP48HOURS Grand Final is this Friday, 25 November, 7pm at The Civic Theatre.
