English director and WFTV (Women in Film and Television UK) patron Gurinder Chadha (pictured) is in New Zealand to promote her latest film, Viceroy's House - a lush period drama about the last six months of British rule in India, and the lead-up to the country's partition into Indian and Pakistan. The film stars Hugh Bonneville and Gillian Anderson as Lord and Lady Mountbatten.
There is a special screening of Viceroy's House at Event Cinemas St Lukes, Auckland, 6.20pm, Tuesday 2 May. This includes a Q&A with Gurinder Chadha after the film - it's a rare chance to hear from the woman behind films such as Bhaji on the Beach, Bend it like Beckham, Bride and Prejudice, It's a Wonderful Afterlife, and Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging.
