Telling stories in new worlds

Posted Tuesday 04 Apr 2017

Audiences are changing the way they view, the platforms they use, and where they find content. Digital interactive story demands a new fusion, between producers, writers, developers and creative technologists. An intersection of story and 'story-world building'. But how exactly do you incorporate strong narratives into these increasingly non-linear mediums of experience?

As part of Story Edge (a companion event to Doc Edge), speakers on the Story Meets Story World panel debate the disruption of story-telling, share the projects they've made, and teach you the tools and tricks they've found to be invaluable in the creation of powerful and lasting narratives. Speakers include Charlie McDermott (Augusto, Generation of Z) and Nick Jones (Punk Writer Ltd, Path of Exile: The Fall of Oriath).

Date: April 20
Time: 5pm panel discussion, 7.30pm screening of Us and the Games Industry at 7.30pm
Place: Q Theatre, 305 Queen St Auckland

If you are interested in interactive story, online documentary, games, virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), mixed reality (MR) or even immersive theatrical experiences, you will be treated to expert knowledge, as well as industry practice and learn the best way forward for your work both creatively and financially.
