Time to speak up about having an industry code of ethics

Posted Tuesday 12 Dec 2017

Does the NZ film and television industry need a code of ethics? We want to hear what you think! Guilds and industry organisations met in September to discuss that issue, and are now asking members for their input. The advent of digital online content has introduced a low-cost, low-budget approach that does not acknowledge the expertise required to deliver the quality now demanded by various platforms. A Code of Ethics could create some bottom lines around these issues. It could also be a broader document that addresses other issues such as sexual harassment (the 'Weinstein Clause') and Health and Safety. It could include the Blue Book as the basis of workplace terms and conditions. We want to hear from you, so do please respond before 20 December.
