WIFTer Rachel Ross is a recent recipient of a New Zealand Film Commission Talent Development Grant, which entitles her to spend eight weeks writing her first feature film at the New York Film Academy. She plans to develop the short she's recently finished (entitled Have you tried, maybe, not worrying?, and currently being submitted to festivals) into a feature-length screenplay. WIFT member Hamish Mortland was the producer on this short film (as well as two others directed by women last year), and will be working on the feature too.
Rachel says she's beyond thrilled about the grant, and leaves at the end of April. Well done Rachel!
