WIFT members shine at 67th Berlinale

Posted Tuesday 24 Jan 2017

Big congratulations to Jackie van Beek on having the world premiere of her directorial feature-film debut at the 67th Berlinale, in the Generation 14plus section. We look forward to one day seeing The Inland Road (pictured), an atmospheric drama about the wounds created (both visible and invisible) after a fatal accident on a countryside road in New Zealand. This film was produced with a majority of women in the cast and crew. Go Jackie!

We also congratulate Nikki Si'ulepa on her selection in the prestigious Berlinale Talents, a six-day programme that involves 250 emerging professionals from 71 countries in a range of events exploring the theme "Courage: Against All Odds". An international selection committee chose the 250 Talents out of 2,711 applicants from 127 nations based on their prior achievements, and the impact and relevance of their artistic work in their home countries. Well done Nikki!
