In New Zealand to perform at the Auckland Arts Festival, ballet superstar Sergei Polunin will appear tomorrow (that's Wednesday, folks!) at a Q&A after a screening of Dancer at the Academy Cinemas.
The documentary, from Oscar-nominated director Steven Cantor, charts Polunin's battles with identity and commitment as he makes the transition from ballet prodigy to legend.
Blessed with astonishing power and poise, Sergei Polunin took the dance world by storm and became the Royal Ballet's youngest-ever principal. However, at age 25 he walked away from it all, stardom having all but driven him to self destruction. Dancer is an unprecedented examination of this complex young man who made ballet go viral.
Meet and question the man himself, Wed 22 March, from 6pm. Tickets $25, book through the Academy Cinemas website.
