The Orator free screening and Q&A for aspiring filmmakers

Calling all students, and aspiring filmmakers of any age.

You're invited to a free screening of The Orator, followed by a Q&A panel discussion with filmmakers Tusi Tamasese and Catherine Fitzgerald. The Q&A will also feature the cast of Tusi Tamasese's new feature film One Thousand Ropes (Sima Urale, Frankie Adams and Beulah Koale).

The first truly Samoan feature film, The Orator tells the story of Saili, a little person and taro farmer whose life is turned upside down when he is denied his father's chiefly status and his family plantation is threatened. Directed by Tusi Tamasese.

Where: Mangere Arts Centre, Corner Bader Drive and Orly Avenue, Mangere, Auckland 2022.
When: Friday 24 March at 12.00pm. (Please arrive at midday for refreshments and to ensure everyone is seated before the film starts.)
Session: Includes film screening, refreshments, and 20-minute Q&A. The film has an M rating.
Run time: Film and Q&A will be finished by approximately 2.45pm.
